Some have suggested allowing players to design custom ships completely from scratch.

62. Is there REALLY skill involved in flying these ships? - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
Real zero-g physics would be a major change to the game. Ships would no longer have any maximum velocity (below the speed of light), but instead would have a maximum acceleration. In a massive battle, ships could be moving at widely varying speeds...

64. Is there REALLY skill involved in flying these ships? - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
Most of the features I just mentioned have been used in C64 games. Why would you need 100x the processing power to do them now?

65. Is there REALLY skill involved in flying these ships? - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
I'm sure that there is skill involved, but combat would be much more interesting if Eve ships had multiple shield facings, weapons arcs, subsystems that could be damaged and/or targeted, armor that only protected the side of the ship that it was m...

67. How would you make ships more customizable? - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
Ideally, you'd have a situation in which ship A would beat ship B, and ship B would beat ship C, but ship C could still beat ship A-- a system of ship customization so sophisticated that trends in ship designs would come and go, with no designs be...

68. How would you make ships more customizable? - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
Quote: Ideally what would be cool is instead of fitting minor mods to a ship. You instead assemble a ship from scratch. That would be great. Crew management would add another dimension to the game, too. No doubt custom ships could unbal...

69. How would you make ships more customizable? - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
I'm not talking about customizing the appearance of ships, but creating new ways to customize the ships themselves, and their capabilities. What would you do, if anything?

70. What you would add to EVE to make more hardcore ... - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
Another idea: subsystems targeting. Introduce ship subsystems into the game, and have a mini-game in which players can manually target those subsystems. This would help satisfy players who wish you could use a joystick and deadfire in this game, ...

71. What you would add to EVE to make more hardcore ... - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
I would make combat more dangerous and interesting by introducing weapon arcs, specific systems damage (as structure is damaged, specific systems may go down and must be repaired), advanced damage control, armor banks that only absorb damage from ...
